Our Story

the beginning of our journey

Helping Hands Community Services was established in 2018 with a mission born out of a deeply personal struggle and a commitment to make a difference. Our journey began after our loved one was assaulted by a support worker, leaving him without the care he desperately needed. When we discovered that the police and justice system were unwilling to take action because B was non-verbal and could not stand up for himself, we knew we had to do something to be better. This heartbreaking experience revealed the profound flaws and inconsistencies within the disability support sector, inspiring us to create an organisation that genuinely prioritises the needs of its participants.

our commitment & approach

Located in the heart of the Redlands in Victoria Point, we proudly serve the Redlands, Logan, and South Brisbane areas. As a small non-profit and registered NDIS organisation, we understand that we might not be the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. Our commitment extends beyond our own services; we strive to help those we cannot support find the right provider to meet their needs. We know what it feels like to be promised the world, only to have the earth fall out from beneath your feet. Our goal is to do better every day for everyone we support, always remembering why we are here and staying grounded in our identity.

At Helping Hands, we believe in empowering our participants to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. We bring the same level of passion and dedication we have for our loved ones to everyone we support. Our approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique needs and aspirations. We are committed to building genuine relationships with our participants and their families, listening to their stories, and adapting our support to meet their evolving needs.

a community

We are driven by a simple but profound goal: to provide exceptional support to all who we can. Our journey is a constant reminder of why we exist—to ensure that no one falls through the cracks, regardless of how much funding they have. We remain steadfast in our mission to be better every day, for B and for everyone out there like him.

Join our community and experience the difference of a provider that truly cares. At Helping Hands Community Services, we are not just here to support; we are here to empower you to live your best life, always striving to do better and to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

Helping Hands feels like family to us. Brandon has been through a lot, and they’re the first provider that really gets him. They put in the time and effort, and it shows. Really grateful for them.

- Mikaela.

The team at Helping Hands is incredible. They’ve taken such good care of my brother. It’s not easy to find people who actually care, but these guys do. Couldn’t be happier with them.

- Nico.

Excellent group of support workers who genuinely care and want to help improve the lives of those they support. Highly Recommend!
